Director’s message

Dear friends, colleagues, students and future innovators,

I am honored to share an exciting new chapter in the journey of the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering as we mark our third year of operation. The School continues to advance at the intersection of advanced manufacturing processes, industrial robotics and autonomous systems and artificial intelligence.

Take a look at our current metrics:

Academic programs

Our faculty have worked hard to develop and update undergraduate and graduate programs that align with emerging opportunities in manufacturing, robotics and systems engineering. As a student, you will join one of the nation’s fastest-growing engineering schools, supported by world-class faculty, modern facilities and a culture of ingenuity.

You can launch your career from the heart of a manufacturing renaissance that spans semiconductor, aerospace, defense and energy industries. These sectors represent some of the fastest-growing areas in the United States and around the world, creating career opportunities for graduates at every degree level.

ISTB12: A worthy investment for the future

In fall 2025, we opened the Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building 12, or ISTB12, a 173,000-square-foot, three-story facility created to drive the future of manufacturing. The building includes advanced laboratories, collaborative design and production spaces and instructional environments that foster innovation and hands-on learning. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the building, tour its manufacturing spaces and connect with School leadership to learn more about opportunities within the School and its programs.
